Jeffrey Malbasa

Jeff joined HPM Partners in October 2016 when Spero-Smith Investment Advisers joined the firm. He and Bob Smith are co-leaders of the HPM Partners Cleveland office. At Spero-Smith, Jeff was President and Chief Investment Officer where he oversaw the delivery of the company’s investment advisory, financial planning, and wealth management services. He joined the firm in 2003 and held previous positions of Portfolio Manager and Chief Operating Officer.

Jeff is an active community leader, serving on multiple boards and committees in greater Cleveland. He serves as President of the Board of Directors of Community Housing, Secretary of the Board for Diabetes Partnership of Cleveland and also provides leadership and expertise for the United Way Human Resource and Pension Committee. In 2014, Jeff was named to the prestigious “Forty under 40” list by Crain’s Cleveland Business magazine.

Jeff earned an M.B .A. in Finance and Banking from The Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and History from Tufts University. He is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Cleveland.
